The Trump administration ratcheted up the bully-boy tactics Monday night, firing the country's acting attorney general for her “betrayal” – telling government attorneys not to defend the executive order banning travel from seven Muslim countries – and telling the 100 diplomats who released an official dissent memo that if they don't like working under Trump they can quit.

Senator Carper deserves credit for going to the protest in Philly and making the remarks he did. Just go to Ken Grant's FB page and take 4 minutes to watch Carper and Lisa Blunt Rochester looking, acting and sounding like actual Americans and Democrats. I don't know how much he was motivated by pressure from constituents, and how much he was motivated by his own sense of right and wrong, and to be honest it doesn't really matter. He took a step out of the "bipartisanship Ubber Alles" fantasy world that he lives in and stepped foot into the real world of Trump's America. Now he has to keep it going by joining with Democrats to withhold consent.

(Wilmington, Del.) – WDEL (101.7FM/1150AM/WDEL.com) will present a debate between the candidates in the upcoming special election in the Delaware Senate 10th district on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at Middletown High School. Democrat Stephanie Hansen, Republican John Marino and Libertarian Party candidate Joseph Lanzendorfer have agreed to participate. WDEL’s Allan Loudell will be the moderator of the one-hour broadcast. These phone-call prompts are working. I have two almost entirely non-political friends who have been motivated to make calls for the first time ever because of these posts and comments. Keep it up! It works!
We need to keep the pressure on Carper and Coons. They are on the front lines of resisting Trump. If they fold on resisting these nominations, they will fold on maintaining a Democratic filibuster. Psychoanalyzing Donald Trump has been an all-American parlor game for going on 18 months now, but I think we may be asking the wrong question -- or, perhaps, viewing it through the wrong frame. I don't think he is mentally ill. Yes, there's ample evidence of Trump's narcissism, paranoia, verminophobia, racism, and misogyny, along with a grab-bag of minor personality quirks. But most people are missing the obvious signs of a potential health problem that, I believe, renders him mentally unfit to carry out the duties of the office. I strongly suspect Donald Trump suffers from dementia. This idea is not new. It was floated as far back as October 2015, when Steve King assembled evidence at Death and Taxes.

I live in the "currently" unhinged and Republican stronghold state of Texas but if the turnout for Saturday's Women's March is a barometer, hopefully we can change that sooner than later even with gerrymandering. That said, I would like to move my deposited money from BOA, headquartered in one of the most politically regressive states in the country, at least in my opinion, to one that reflects Liberal values. If you have any information as to how anyone on your blog has searched for such a financial institution, would you kindly share? Thanks for the consideration, William in Austin
This is a question that comes up from time to time because I think we all recoil at the thought of propping up the very companies that are robbing America blind. My gut reaction is to advise moving your money to a credit union. They are locally owned and not under the gun to make quarterly profit numbers. But there must be a bank that has a national ATMs network and isn't straight up evil. New Resources Bank is Bcorp certified, so that might be a contender. Similarly, Sunrise Bank out of St Paul Minnesoata is Bcorp approved. Does anyone have any experiences with any of these? Any other recommendations.
