ROMNEY: And I — and I went to my staff, and I said, “How come all the people for these jobs are — are all men.” They said, “Well, these are the people that have the qualifications.” And I said, “Well, gosh, can’t we — can’t we find some — some women that are also qualified?” And — and so we — we took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet. I went to a number of women’s groups and said, “Can you help us find folks,” and they brought us whole binders full of women.Mika pointed out that this was a lie. Whoa! That was simply too much for the men of Morning Joe. How dare she bring up something that the men declared unimportant; how dare she point out that Mitt lied again. Joe Scarborough declared the women in binders topic ridiculous and desperate - which tells me that he's afraid of it. Mark Halperin stated that "that's not what this election should be about" and how they "shouldn't be parsing individual statements said live during a debate" and asked, wistfully, if we could just talk policy for the next three weeks. I intend to hold him to that.
Richard Williamson is Mitt Romney’s top foreign policy advisor, the guy who orchestrated Romney’s original effort to exploit the attack in Libya before it was even clear the US Ambassador had died. Now he’s saying that Romney will insist Obama “man up” and take responsibility for the Ambassador’s death at tonight’s debate. There are two reasons why I think Mitt Romney wouldn’t dare try and pull this off. First, reports from people who were actually in Libya are citing the video as the initial reason they heard for the attack, and second… Mitt uttering the words man up? Yeah, that would sound natural. If I were Romney I’d tread carefully here. He already has parents of fallen embassy officials calling him out for politicizing this tragedy.
ROMNEY: I appointed probably 50 or 60 judges--at the trial court level, mostly, the great majority. These were former prosecutors; 80% of them former prosecutors. We don't have a litmus test for appointing judges--asking them if they're pro-life or not pro-life. These were people going after crimes and the like. I am pro-life. And the Massachusetts Citizens for Life and several other family-oriented groups wrote a letter two weeks ago and said they'd watched my record, that I was an avidly pro-life governor. I am a pro-life governor; I am a pro-life individual. Is there any possibility that I've ever made a mistake in that regard, I didn't see something that I should have seen? Possibly. But you can count on me, as president, to pursue a policy that protects the life of unborn, whether here in this country or overseas. And I'll reverse the policies of this president. ROMNEY: People have had a chance to look at my record and look what I've said. I believe people understand that I'm firmly pro-life. I will support justices who believe in following the Constitution and not legislating from the bench. And I believe in the sanctity of life from the very beginning until the very end. Romney: "I'm in favor of having the Supreme Court overturn Roe v Wade" Huckabee asked Romney, "Would you have supported the constitutional amendment that would have established the definition of life at conception?" Romney answered, "Absolutely."Remember that Mitt Romney. Well, forget about him.
Someone vandalized an Obama campaign building in Des Moines by spray painting the words “Muslim Lier” on a large banner, police said. The word “liar” was misspelled on the sign, officers said.Sigh. And we know it's only going to get worse from the functional illiterate group. Everybody... buckle up.
