A Second Shutdown

I had been working last night on a lengthy post, covering a range of topics, but with emphasis on the fact that we may be going back to a second shutdown because of how catastrophically we bungled the epidemic in this country. If this happens it will mean all the struggle and sacrifice of the Spring, along with at least a trillion dollars of crisis spending, will have been wasted.

It is easy to simply blame Trump, and to be sure he deserves the bulk of the blame. But Carney, Coons and every dumb, cowardly motherfucker who caved to the “open early for the economy” idiots owns a large share of the blame as well.

Friedman Agrees w/ Me: Biden shouldn’t “debate” Trump unless two conditions are met

(Biden should debate Trump) only under two conditions. Otherwise, he’s giving Trump unfair advantages. First, Biden should declare that he will take part in a debate only if Trump releases his tax returns for 2016 through 2018. Biden has already done so, and they are on his website. Trump must, too. No more gifting Trump […]

Song of the Day 7/11: Garnet Mimms & the Enchanters, “Cry Baby”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment, National by on July 11, 2020 0 Comments

Diaper Donny is still blubbering like a toddler over his own fuck-ups, so here’s another number for his whine-athon. Janis Joplin’s 1970 cover is the version most Boomers are familiar with, but Garnet Mimms had a No. 4 hit with the original in 1963. His backup singers on the song aren’t actually the Enchanters — […]

Donviti is dead, long live Donviti

Donviti, as you know him is dead.  Well, I’m dying.  I’m killing him at the conclusion of this totally incoherent post. I’m killing him like Republicans are killing our democracy and our citizens with their ignorant, racist, antiscience, antichristian worldview.  I created this character nearly 13 years ago.  Jason somehow came across content of mine.  […]

Song of the Day 7/10: The Beatles, “Cry Baby Cry”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment, National by on July 10, 2020 0 Comments

This one’s for President Whiny Little Bitch. What’s wrong with the brains of people who listen to this crybaby and hear strength? John Lennon had the chorus to this one months before he finished it in India, and he wasn’t happy with the final result, describing it years later as “a piece of rubbish.” That’s […]

Trump campaign spokesperson Hogan Gidley pushes far-right smear about Joe Biden

These people… HOGAN GIDLEY (TRUMP CAMPAIGN SPOKESPERSON): I love the fact that James Carville would point to the past debates of Joe Biden. Let’s be clear, that’s why he was last in all the polls during the debates. It was only South Carolina that saved him. When you’re on a debate stage, you can’t reach […]

Florida was a shithole state in the best of times

Florida was a shithole state in the best of times

Now, with a malignant Trump loving Governor, Florida is the world champion of shithole states. How long until Haiti says “no, merci” to travelers from Florida?

Trump still wants the big wet convention in that shithole. Sure. Why not? He can yell about “Democrat” governors keeping schools closed to make him look bad to a packed house of nit wits and confederacy buffs. Masks and hand washing will be banned in order to own the libs. So much winning.

Coons’ “Good Friend” Alex Azar Mocks the Health Concerns of Teachers

Filed in National by on July 7, 2020 0 Comments

Donald Trump’s health and human services secretary, Alex Azar, basically mocked the concerns of teachers about whether schools can reopen without risking the teachers’ health Tuesday, saying: “Health care workers don’t get infected because they take appropriate precautions. They engage in social distancing, wear facial covering […] This can work. You can do all of this, there’s […]
