Recent reports say that Chris Coons is being considered as a Secretary of State nominee. Delaware voters deserve to know whether Chris Coons will serve out his Senate term before casting their ballots in the September primary election. I’m calling on Chris Coons to confirm that he will serve out this 6-year Senate term if elected, and refuse a presidential appointment if it’s offered to him. If he cannot commit to that, then he should drop out of the Senate race. Delawareans have the right to know that their vote matters. They should be confident that the candidate they vote for will actually do the job if elected.
