Recent reports say that Chris Coons is being considered as a Secretary of State nominee. Delaware voters deserve to know whether Chris Coons will serve out his Senate term before casting their ballots in the September primary election. I’m calling on Chris Coons to confirm that he will serve out this 6-year Senate term if elected, and refuse a presidential appointment if it’s offered to him. If he cannot commit to that, then he should drop out of the Senate race. Delawareans have the right to know that their vote matters. They should be confident that the candidate they vote for will actually do the job if elected.

The pandemic has "torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they're doing," said the former president in a digital commencement speech. "A lot of them aren't even pretending to be in charge."

Then in a virtual commencement address to graduating high school seniors across the country Obama called Trump and infantile loser:

Trump has ordered congress to put Obama through a show trial for something the right wing fever swamps calls “OBAMAGATE” (a largely incoherent conspiracy theory that positions former President Obama as the mastermind behind a conspiracy to use federal law enforcement to undermine Trump’s campaign and presidency). After an "in the dark of night" change in their bylaws which allowed an endorsement of Trump supporting Republican, Mike Ramone, in 2018 the Delaware Stonewall (not) Democrats endorsement process has come under more scrutiny this year. While Mike Ramone has recently broken with Trump privately, [by some accounts calling him a piece of shit] he has not publicly renounced the impeached President who is openly in contempt of LGBT Americans. According to the PAC's Political Vice-President, Mitch Crane, a public break with Trump has been considered a requirement for a 2020 endorsement from Stonewall. It isn't clear now if a private, behind closed doors, refutation of Trump will suffice for Stonewall to re-endorse the execrable Trump supporter who is facing a tough challenge from Stephanie Barry again this year. What is clear is the fact that the "wait and see" dynamic has created some drama around the endorsement in a year in which Trump and his enablers are roundly hated by a large majority of Delaware voters.

Apparently Mike Ramone is going around trashing the President in private, but, to my knowledge, he has yet to call Trump a low life piece of shit in public. Ramone is trying to have it both ways. Facing a tough challenger in Stephanie Barry and trying to snag the Stonewall PAC endorsement - Ramone is apparently trashing Trump to Democrats in private. It is an especially dickish move from Ramone. What the country need like now is people like Ramone coming out in public and telling the truth about the President. Everything else is tacit support.
