Dear Green Party, America needs you
Hi Green Party,
I know you hate the Democratic Party as much as you hate the Republican Party. I know you see them as the same thing and I don’t blame you for it. The “Democratic Party,” since Bill Clinton has been horrible. In Delaware you don’t have to look very far to find elected Democratic officials that are utterly indistinguishable from modern Republicans. Tom Carper, Chris Coons, John Carney, Kathleen McGuiness, Peter Schwartzkopf, and the list goes on. These are horrible, despicable people with garbage politics. You should never vote for these terrible people. I’m 100% with you on that, but stay with me.
This is a Democratic Party on its way out. This execrable corporatists leadership doesn’t represent the future of the party. Don’t look at the leadership and think you are looking at the Democratic Party. Look at the people running for county council and state rep. Listen to “Highlands Bunker” and look at people knocking on doors for “Mom’s Demand Action” and you will see people who you have a great deal in common with. Look at Network Delaware and “We Are Sussex” and you will see the a Democratic Party that you can be a part of.
I’m not asking you to give up anything, least of all your values. The Democratic Party needs your values and even if you decide to remain in you own party the new Democratic Party that is struggling to be born needs your vote (in certain cases).
Beginning with…
Song of the Night – Planet Rock by Africa Bambaata & The Soul Sonic Force
“Planet Rock” (1982) by Afrika Bambaataa & the Soulsonic Force helped change the foundations of hip hop and dance music and became one of the most influential pieces and a milestone and eventually an icon of the hip hop, breakdance and electronic music cultures. It is credited with pioneering the genre and developing the electro […]
Joe, don’t go there
As an Eschaton commenter noted, Joe Biden got zero Republican votes for the ACA, not even a hearing for a Merrick Garland and traded away most of the revenue from the expiring Bush tax cuts in exchange for a two month postponement of the sequester and no increase to the debt ceiling… And yet he […]
Observations from Middletown’s Peach Fest
The peach blight of 1911 wiped out all the peach orchards around Middletown. No matter…traditions must be upheld. One tradition is a large turnout by political folks. I got there late, so missed most of the regulars.
9th RD Rep Kevin Hensley was there, and no wonder has this shit locked down. He gives out hand towels dunked in ice cold water. Genius! He is a terrible person though. A real low life. I mean, I don’t know him, but he must be judging by the horrible low life’s he shares a tent with. [Wall to wall Trump signs]
Bethany Hall Long is here. She’s running for Governor (Yes, even now. She has already started. No not a primary…but a really, really long campaign). I have given BHL some shit here, but she is a great retail politician. Also, credit where credit is due – her campaign tag line is the most honest I’ve seen.
What else…Wow it was hot. I think I’ll pass on going to this until President Pence gets Jesus to fix climate change.
Americans Get It – A Deeper Dive into a Fox News Poll
Most have us seen the recent Fox News Poll in which all top Democrats beat Trump heads up. (His support has hit a hard cap at 39%, and he hasn’t added a single voter since the last elections.)
But there is a heap of stuff in the poll and most of it points to the fact that Americans aren’t the clueless dummies that the media makes them out to be.

Highlands Bunker – E28 – We Are Sussex
Ed Note: This was a subscriber post that REV unlocked in view of Don’s email today. If you haven’t already, consider supporting Highlands Bunker through Patreon.
Former state rep candidate Don Allanjoins RE Vanella in the bunker to talk about his new organization, We Are Sussex, the lessons he learned about changing the Democratic brand down south, and how much water it takes to clean a chicken.
Show Notes:
DJIA begins a bumpy ride down
The George W Bush Economic collapse began in August 2007. The markets finally hit bottom 18 months later in February 2009.
Last time the markets crashed and the economy slid into a recession, it took a year and a half, and the election of Barrack Obama in 2008 to begin to turn things around. If we are entering a similar Republican economic cycle, we’ll be seeing layoffs and downsizings through February of 2021.
Give Me Your Pale, Your Blond
Very few things Trump has done have pissed me off more than the exhumation of racist sack of shit Ken Cuccinelli, the former Virginia AG, for a job as acting Director of the Citizenship and Immigration Services office. He was appointed to this post specifically because of his racism, which he paraded around earlier this […]
Which Democrat can set the media agenda?
This Wapo article is more evidence that media is more than happy to make the Presidential race about things Trump wants to talk about; slavery reparations and plastic straws. Clinton allowed herself to constantly play defence. I’m for whichever Democrat can break through the noise and carry the media along into a new narrative. So far Bernie, Warren, Beto, Kamala and Mayor Pete have all shown flashes of that ability but nobody has sustained it.
Why is Chris Coons Against the Separation of Church and State?
Chris Coons’ homoerotic little boys’ “Christian” club in Washington is getting the Netflix docu-series treatment, as once again Jeff Sharlet tries to pull back the curtain on “The Family,” a Christianist group that seeks to eliminate the barrier between church and state as it spreads its hate-filled notion of the Nazarene’s message. Can someone please […]
News Of Epstein’s Death First Appeared on 4chan
It is interesting when you consider how deeply involved Russia was (is) involved in using 4chan as a “troll farm testing grounds.” This from reddit: Some insight into the Russian psyop on 4chan as I experienced it. Fast forward to 2015. /pol/ has a man in the ring. He’s the “Chaos Candidate.” We are engaged […]
State by State Trump is Historically Unpopular, The Dem Nominee is Practically a Stone Cold Lock to Win
This election is the Democrats to lose. That said if they are timid, and if they try to accommodate “moderates” and f they nominate someone who is only popular inside the beltway, they could still lose.
