Difficult to turn this into anything but a ‘just the facts, ma’am’ edition. Here’s yesterday’s Session Activity Report.  If you can turn these lemons into lemonade, you should be writing for Delaware Liberal. Here are today’s Senate and House Agendas. Let’s talk a little bit about HB 31, which eliminates language in the Delaware Code […]

The first shelter dog in the White House didn’t stay there too long: Major, the younger of the Bidens’ German Shepherds, was banished to Delaware after nipping a Secret Service agent, and Champ had to go with him. I think Marjor deserves a pardon — he probably smelled Trump on the guy. Face of the […]

I was curious about how Randy Rainbow would transition to a post-Trump political landscape. Here’s your answer — Mr. Sandman parodied for Sleepy Joe, with backup vocals by the Robinettes.

The Minimum Wage Bill has been introduced.  Glad to see that all three of our elected officials in my RD  (Larry Lambert, Kyle Evans Gay, and Sarah McBride) are on the bill.  If your legislators aren’t on the bill as sponsors, you know what to do.  The bill has correctly been assigned to the Senate […]

Point: Bernie Sanders’s primary campaigns have moved the Democratic Party to the left. For evidence of that, just look at how the American Rescue Plan utterly ignored the Beltway’s fetish for bipartisanship and delivered big, clear gains to the American people, like cutting the child poverty rate in half.   www.lawyersgunsmoneyblog.com Counter Point: As a pro-family […]

Trump wants all the donations

This thrills me to no end.  Trump will not stop until the GOP has been picked clean.   And it was all perfectly avoidable.

Released as a single in 1968, this instrumental jam, credited to all four members of the legendary Stax house band, became the second-biggest hit of their headlining career, peaking at No. 6. It’s easy to hear why –Duck Dunn lays down a chooglin’ bass groove and Booker T. Jones plays his Hammond B-3 like a […]

The initial Joint Finance Committee hearings are over (budget mark-up will come later), so the General Assembly will be working up until an Easter break.  The House will not officially reconvene until Thursday.  However, House committees will meet both today and tomorrow.  The Senate will convene today. Perhaps the biggest news is the imminent introduction […]

Theory of Holy Moderation and Exalted Centrism ™ to be tested

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Monsanto) has no interest in having his ass kicked by whoever the Trump cult runs against him in 2022’s primary.   Under the theory of Holy Moderation and Exalted Centrism ™ Blunt’s Missouri seat should go to a Democrat, when voters find the GOP has nominated a “radical” who is “out of step” with the common sense moderation of Show Me State voters. Right?  Right, Chris Coons? Right? Dems have a real shot here, right?

Anybody have national polling numbers for Ted Cruz?

Americas oldest college debate society  votes to strip Ted Cruz of a prestigious Princeton honor for public service.

I’m loving this.

In a Monday letter to Trump attorney Alex Cannon, RNC chief counsel J. Justin Riemer said the committee “has every right to refer to public figures as it engages in core, First Amendment-protected political speech” and said “it will continue to do so in pursuit of these common goals.”

Coons called out for his “despicable and unacceptable” vote. Meanwhile, Tio Bernie says, “if any senator believes this is the last time they will cast a vote on whether or not to give a raise to 32 million Americans, they are sorely mistaken.”   So Coons will have another shot to vote like the big follower of Jesus Christ he claims to be.   Via Common Dreams: Shameful-Millionaire Senators Vote Against Popular Minimum Wage

Derek Chauvin, Murder of George Floyd, goes on trial this week  At trial, prosecutors will argue Chauvin had his knee on Floyd’s neck for roughly nine minutes—including nearly three minutes in which Floyd was unresponsive.

“Please, please, please, I can’t breathe. Please, man,” Floyd said in the viral body-camera footage, “I’m about to die.”

Chauvin’s defense team will argue that Floyd was asking for it (by being African American).

Song of the Day 3/7: Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, “The Money Song”

Man, all this agitation for raising the minimum wage to a level a person could live has been going on forever, hasn’t it? Your grandpa probably busted a gut listening to the hot young comedy duo when they cut this routine on a Capitol Records 78 — on shellac — in 1948, voicing age-old complaints […]
