Coons: PRESIDENT BIDEN IS SOMEONE WHO WILL WORK ACROSS THE AISLE. I WAS ENCOURAGED TO HEAR SENATOR CASSIDY SAY REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME OF THIS STIMULUS BILL, THIS COVID RESPONSE BILL, HE IS GOING TO WORK ACROSS THE AISLE. I HAVE BEEN A GOOD FRIEND AND PARTNER WITH HIM WORKING ON NATIONAL SERVICE ISSUES, FOR EXAMPLE. I THINK PRESIDENT BIDEN CHALLENGED US TO DO TWO THINGS -- DELIVER RELIEF TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FOR THE ONGOING PANDEMIC AND RECESSION CAUSED BY IT, AND FIND WAYS TO WORK ACROSS THE AISLE. THE URGENCY OF THE ISSUE MEANS HE IS MOVING AHEAD AND WE ARE MOVING AHEAD WITH THIS $1.9 TRILLION BILL THAT HAS A BROAD SUPPORT AMONGST VOTERS OF ALL BACKGROUNDS AND PARTIES.

How do we beat Kevin Hensley (and other so-called moderate Republicans)?  I'm seriously asking. For me, the simple fact that Hensley is a Republican is enough. Turns out, I'm not normal.  We have about 20 months, so what's the game plan? This is huge -> President Biden announces we will now have enough vaccine supply for 300 million Americans by the end of May.  This is 2 months earlier than last estimates, and possible because Biden is using the Defense Production Act to have companies help produce the J&J vaccine. And now the punch line: AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas ends mask mandate after 8 months, becoming largest state to lift order intended to prevent spread of COVID-19.   Idiots.

All I can say is good luck finding a better tax haven, even if 2% of net worth above $50 million is taxed.

It'd be -- you know, contending that the small tax would generate at least 3 trillion dollars. Now, if you're not going to be subject to that tax, you're probably saying "great." Here's the problem. ... If Elizabeth Warren does this in the country, do you not think that the people that got rich, most of which got rich by not being stupid and working hard, I don't know many people that were born with a silver spoon in their mouth, I just don't know that crowd. I -- I didn't grow up with that crowd. So, I'm just -- I'm looking at this, and they think it's great. The bill's going to be dubbed the "ultra-millionaire tax act." Okay, what do you think -- what is happening that nobody is paying attention to? People are leaving the country. They are giving up their citizenship. That's the next thing that's going to happen.

The Last Guy very nearly won a second term.  That's fucking crazy to think about, but he almost pulled it off. Policy is strategy. Strategy is policy. I fight against pessimism, because I'm a natural optimist, but I wonder how many seats we'll lose in the midterms?  More than a few.
