‘Stop The Steal’ Protests Go National.  Stabbings and at least one shooting ensue.  Arrest these bastards.  Warnock supporter attacked in Georgia.

“It’s The Deposed King Ranting”.  This, from…Bill Barr?

Trump’s ‘Army Of Sore Losers’.  Rethug candidates who got smoked, but fight on in court.  Pathetic.

Gov. Newsom Has Chance To Reshape Cali Politics.  He may get to appoint, not just one, but two, US senators.

Police Bill Of Rights Focus Of Oversight.  A really good primer from Matt Bittle.  Read this and let it roll around in your brain for awhile:

LEOBOR (Law Enforcement Officer Bill Of Rights) currently has a confidentiality clause that is the only one of its kind in the country, and that confidentiality clause prohibits the release of police misconduct records,” said Misty Seemans, an assistant public defender serving on the subcommittee. “The only individual to get access to those records are civil attorneys who are suing for specific claims of damages.”

Here’s the ‘dog bites man’ tidbit:

A spokesman for Gov. John Carney did not respond to a question about whether the governor would be open to altering the Law-Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights.

What do you want to talk about?

Song of the Day 12/12: Bob Dylan, “Things Have Changed”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment by on December 12, 2020 2 Comments

It was 20 years ago that the film “Wonder Boys,” based on Michael Chabon’s novel, was released, with this then-new song anchoring the soundtrack, and things remain crazy and times remain strange. The movie bombed, but Dylan won an Oscar for the song, and performed it on the telecast via satellite link from Sydney, Australia, […]

Q: How can the GOP survive Trump & McConnell?

I’m seriously asking – how does the GOP go on? In trying to tear America to pieces, how does the GOP not end up in shreds? How long can a political party run entirely on trickle down chicanery, “owning libs” and racial hatred?

The “emperor has no clothes” moment isn’t coming. The GOP is a unified an battle ready as it has ever been.

I’ll freely admit it – I don’t get it.

Kenny Jeremiah, the lead singer of the Soul Survivors, succumbed to COVID-19 a week ago. While he might not be the best-known musician to die this year, his group’s big hit represents a small piece of music history. When we think of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff today, we associate them with Philly soul, the […]

Feinstein & Carper Raise a Painful Age Question Among Senate Democrats

Filed in National by on December 11, 2020 6 Comments

At 73 years of age, Tom Caper is a doddering fossil among doddering fossils. In a hearing on November 17th, Dianne Feinstein, the senior Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, who, at eighty-seven, is the oldest member of the Senate, grilled a witness. Reading from a sheaf of prepared papers, she asked Jack Dorsey, the […]

Delaware’s ‘Balanced’ Judiciary Ruled Constitutional.  Meaning, that those who identify with the anti-democratic and autocratic Rethugs will still make up about half of Delaware’s judiciary. Great work, John.  Anthony Delcollo is polishing his resume as we speak.  As I write this, the News-Journal still hasn’t posted the story. 106 Rethug Congresspersons Urge Overthrow Of Democracy.  […]

Character actor David L. Lander, famous for his role on “Laverne & Shirley,” died last week at age 73. Lander and Michael McKean, as Andrew “Squiggy” Squiggman and Lenny Kosnowski, doofus neighbors and co-workers of the female leads, became the top-rated show’s breakout stars. Lenny and Squiggy (originally Ant’ny Squiggliano) predated the sitcom, which ran […]

3,140 Deaths.  In one day in the United States.  More deaths than happened during 9-11.  Somewhere, a President seeks to overthrow the election. Priorities, pipples. The GOP is a Secessionist Organization Being Led by Fucking Madman

Trump’s Amicus brief in the Texas case is bonkers: The fact that nearly half of the country believes the election was stolen should come as no surprise. President Trump prevailed on nearly every historical indicia of success in presidential elections. For example, he won both Florida and Ohio; no candidate in history—Republican or Democrat—has ever […]
