Senator Chris Coons' National Prayer Breakfast contact, Mariia Butina, was also in contact with former Trump campaign aide J.D. Gordon in the weeks leading up to the 2016 presidential election, the Washington Post reported Friday. Gordon, who served as a former foreign policy adviser to Trump, told the newspaper he disclosed their meetings and emails in testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee. Coons has still not disavowed his connection with the National Spy Breakfast.  

Coons sure is a cagey guy. He only hangs around with the classiest Russian spies.

Maria Butina, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy and acting as a foreign agent in the US, tended to brag about her ties to Russian intelligence when she was intoxicated, according to people familiar with the situation. CNN's Sara Murray reports.

Coons has still not disavowed his connection with the National Spy Breakfast.
