Can the Alt-Labor movement take hold in Corporate-Dem blue states? Probably not.

The crux of the division in the Democratic Party have been well discussed and are well known to readers of DL, so there is no need to go into them here. For a long time I thought that the divisions were something that could be worked out. I once naively thought that the abject heinousness of GOP misrule is more than enough motivation for all Democrats to come together. Now I'm not so sure. For me, the rise of wildcat teacher strikes is some tipping point evidence that we have two fundamentally different Democratic Parties trying to wear the same sweater. One Democratic Party wants social and economic justice, and one does not. I don't think they can co-exist. The goals of the two parties are antithetical.

When you hear a politician say “Regulations are stifling business.” Yell, “What regulations? Name ONE!”

Now your low tax shit hole can have its very own shit train.
Two months ago, dozens of train cars filled with ten million pounds of human shit from waste disposal plants in New York and New Jersey came to rest outside the town of Parrish, Alabama, population 982. They've been there ever since, rotting in the sun, smelling unimaginably bad. They were destined for a landfill site in Adamsville, Alabama, but the residents of the adjacent town of West Jefferson obtained an injunction blocking the site's staging railyard from receiving the biowaste, so now the shit is in limbo in Parrish, where a the region's commitment to small government and light-touch regulation means there's no rules against storing tons of human feces in populated areas.

A Fox Business reporter said today that Joe Biden has told Wall Street connections he'll run for president in 2020 -- provided Trump is the Republican nominee. Charles Gasparino told…

Get to know the Wonderfully Wonky Jack Bucchioni

Traffic...Clean Drinking Water...Internet Speeds. Bucchioni keeps it simple, and asks Harbeson, Lewes, and Milton if they want a Rep who will actually do something. In tone, he reminds me of the successful Northern Virginia candidate who made a promise to fix gridlock on state Route 28 centerpiece of her campaign, promoting that issue ceaselessly, even as others wanted bog down the campaign responding to typical Republican obfuscation and bullshit.

Comment Rescue – Student Loan Hell

I know DL has a lot of lurkers and commenters who know a lot more about this than I do. My best suggestion is to declare bancrupty, but we know that is difficult if not impossibe for "goverment backed" student loans. What else? Anyone?
