The surge is working, the surge is wor
BAGHDAD — It was billed as a national “dialogue” that would bring Iraq’s disparate and warring factions together to discuss their differences and emerge with a blueprint for peaceful coexistence. But if the national reconciliation conference held here on Tuesday revealed anything, it was that the deep political and religious fissures that run through this […]
Barack Obama’s More Perfect Union
Text of this remarkable speech here. In fact, a similar anger exists within segments of the white community. Most working- and middle-class white Americans don’t feel that they have been particularly privileged by their race. Their experience is the immigrant experience – as far as they’re concerned, no one’s handed them anything, they’ve built it […]
Dorian Gray Guest Post
This is more essay than blog post but it is a fine analysis, I think. It expounds on a similar point I was making this morning. Adult relationships are very complicated. There is no consistent, homogeneous path or clique or political party we can truly resign ourselves to. Why do we expect this from our […]
I’m not kidding when I say I put her on par with Bush

I really can’t stand this woman and the flat out lies disgust me at this point. I was listening to Hillieary this morning on NPR and I was yelling at the radio. My 14 y/o daughter was getting a lesson in how to listen to a politician not answer a question. If you have the […]
I love this statement
Regarding a “Do Over” in Florida… In a statement, House members from Florida said they were committed to working with the DNC and state officials to find a solution to ensure that their 210 delegates take their place at the convention. However, “Our House delegation is opposed to a mail-in campaign or any redo of […]
The Rolling Stone Endorses Obama

(Look at me Ma! I’ve got the keys to the car now!) Obama is on the cover of the current edition of Rolling Stone: You can see the full story here.
I’m being date raped!
Oil Prices Reach New High Above $109 a Barrel As Report Suggests Demand Will Remain Brisk VIENNA, Austria (AP) — Oil prices briefly are surging above $109 a barrel for the first time. The rise comes as International Energy Agency is warning that there is unlikely to be much relief from current high oil prices […]
Oh Snap! NO HE DITINT!!!
With all due respect, I’ve won twice as many states as Sen. Clinton. I’ve won more of the popular vote than Sen. Clinton. I have more delegates than Sen. Clinton. So, I don’t know how somebody who’s in second place is offering the vice presidency to the person who’s in first place. [Long applause.]… But […]
Question
How much respect for the Democratic Party will you have if they turn around and try to redo the Michigan and Florida votes? How much less (if possible) will you respect the Clinton’s? Personally I think this points back to the Andrew Sullivan article. The Clinton’s really are polarizing people and they don’t care if it […]
Flip flopping or just plain lying?

the Maverick in action… Flip: “He is, as he describes himself, a liberal Democrat,” Mr. McCain said of Mr. Kerry, adding that he meant no offense by the term. “I am a conservative Republican. So when I was approached, when we had that conversation back in 2004, that’s why I never even considered such a […]
Crazy Question here but
aren’t some of these people the same people that W courted in 2000 and 2008? One is demographic. He didn’t carry the groups he often has trouble with — white women, Latinos, the less educated. The other is tactical. Clinton attacked him, and the attacks worked.
Obamamentum…back on track
Obama wins Wyoming and a MAJORITY of it’s 12 delegates. Sure it isn’t a lot but a win is a win. In poker, it doesn’t matter about the size of the pot but stopping the mojo of the other person that was on a mini roll. (thanks Mithras for the correction)
Sound and Fury, Signifying Nothing
Well for all of her bluster last night, Hillary didn’t have much to show for it. According to the Obama Campaign: Our projections show the most likely outcome of yesterday’s elections will be that Hillary Clinton gained 187 delegates, and we gained 183. That’s a net gain of 4 delegates out of more than 370 […]
