Adios “Worst Person in Delaware” Hello “Delaware’s Winners and Losers”

Welcome to a new regular feature called “Delaware’s Winners and Losers of the Week.” Now some people may say that I am just being a pansy and quitting “Worst Person” because it was difficult.

Those people would be right.

I was reading about all kinds of domestic abuse, homicides and horrible behavior. Then I was passing long all kinds of negativity here and I don’t mean to sound like a new age spiritualist – but channeling all that negative energy takes a toll.

It was a bummer, as my cantankerous Uncle Charlie might have said.

So I’m “rebranding” the feature and looking at the good as well as the bad in order to bring my bloggy chakras into balance. So without further ado – let’s take a look at Delaware’s Winners and Losers for the Week of February 4th.

Winners

1) Barack Obama. Duh. That was easy because he kicked ass here in DE – BUT, did you know that the real ass kicking came prior to this week when he attracted people like Chris Lu and Nicole Dursey to his campaign? Chris worked his ass off and is probably 3,000 miles away from here right now working his ass off for Obama. And that Nicole…for get about it. My heart went all a flutter when (in the DL exclusive interview) Nicole said that after New Hampshire they started looking at every state like they were ten points down in the polls. That’s. What. I’m. Talking. About.

2) Liberalgeek. Okay it is icky and incestuous to name one of my homies the winner of the week, but just think about how empty your Friday was without geek’s “Around the Horn.” Also – think about how much he and Donviti rocked the house on Tuesday with the dispatches from the morgue that was Clinton HQ and the Spring Break that was Obama’s. Honestly, when he was putting up those videos in (near) real time I was all…wha..? This blog is the shit!

Losers:

1) Hairless McDowell. Stupid beard. Stupid “stall and kill” hearings. Stupid water carrier for Delmarva power. Now he says that he is holding the “let’s figure out how to kill wind power” hearings because Charlie Copeland and Thurman Adams wanted him too. We are talking LOSER here folks.

2) Bill Belichick. Stupid sweatshirts with the sleeves cut off. Stupid “perfect season.” Meh!

3) Tom Carper. Just because.

Who is “R Way?”

So Harris McDowell has this mysterious contributor called income from “R WAY.”

These are search results for that name at the DE Corporations site.

4208421 R-WAY II, LLC
3338912 RWAY INC.

One of them points to Walter Wilson of Rehoboth Beach Delaware. The Other to “Harvard Business Services” of Lewes Delaware. They maybe one in the same given that fact that one is listed as “R WAY II.”

Anyway, Harvard is one of those “Incorporate in Delaware!” operations and (get this) when you google “Walter Wilson & Delaware” you get to this court filing.

That’s kind of a strange coincidence I’d say. Eog stands for Enron Oil and Gas which is still a going concern.

Comment Rescue: R-Way means Our (Delmarva Power’s) Way

Al got it right on his program this morning. (These bullshit hearings are) just McDowell’s attempt to undo the law that he helped write. And, in a press release yesterday Venebles stated that McDowell is a nationally recognized energy expert. He’s so nationally recognized that if you Google him you get nothing on this. Zilch. That’s a pretty low profile for somebody who is nationally recognized.

Does anybody out there know what R-WAY is? It’s listed as a source of income on McDowell’s disclosure document that he filed with the Delaware Public Integrity Commission, he’s the President, but there’s no explanation and again, Google doesn’t yield anything that might apply.

I’m telling you – the smoking gun is that McDowell is doing EVERYTHING Delmarva Power wants him to do.

Around The Horn Friday: The Open Source Edition

To be real honest, Around the Horn is painful sometimes.  I enjoy it because it expands my mind and view, but it really does take some time.  Usually, I sit in front of the TV on a Thursday night surfing around to pick out the posts that I think are interesting, or related and preferably both.  Generally, by the time it is all said and done, I’ve burned between 2 and 3 hours.  After the long week of politicking and blogging (not to mention work) I just don’t have it in me.

But my mind still works.  I thought that this week, I would let you do Around the Horn for me.  So here are the rules:

  1. Surf around the Delaware blogosphere.  Try a blog that you visit infrequently or your second favorite (besides DL)
  2. Find an interesting post that went up in the past week.
  3. In the comments section enter the URL of the post along with a short description of what you like or hated about the post.
  4. You may do more than one interesting post in a single comment.
  5. You may not quote yourself.
  6. You do not have to have a blog to participate, new commenters are welcome.
  7. Check back throughout the day to see what has turned up.

Have fun.  If you don’t know how to make a link, just paste the address into the comment and I’ll linkify it for you.

Where’s The Love?

There is such a gap between the Romney lovers and the McCain lovers.  I don’t know if it can be bridged.  Check out the TMP coverage of CPAC and Mitt’s withdrawal.
