Now That’s What I Call An Apology

Filed in National by on March 28, 2009

Mahafee has a good post up about a good apology.

I can see why he liked it. The modern non-apology apology is so tiresome.

I’m sorry you misunderstood my comment. = Not an apology

An excerpt From the 3-9-2009 Cape Gazette:

Prettyman’s frustrations reached the boiling point at the Feb. 26 school board meeting when he interrupted board member Camilla Conlon and refused to yield when board President Esthelda Parker Selby banged her gavel, demanding order. He told her she could bang the gavel all she wanted, but he would not stop.
But, that was merely an opening volley.
At the Tuesday, March 3 owners meeting with high school construction managers, Prettyman charged that the district has failed to provide security cameras at the rear and side doors of Milton schools. Tyrone Woodyard, plant operations manager, said cameras are being installed in phases, but Prettyman said the district is redirecting security money to technology. “All that technology won’t do you any good when half the students in a school are killed,” he said.
Prettyman said Milton students are the stepchildren of the school district. “We show you every time you have an election we can outvote you,” he said to Conlon, referring to “you white people in Rehoboth.”
