The Hill Blog Ponders DE Special if Castle Wins Senate

Filed in National by on August 5, 2010

So if Mike Castle wins, DE has an empty seat in Congress until someone gets appointed or elected. Big whoop. Happens all the time. The best thing about the post is the comment by some DE wingnut.

This won’t be a problem. Christine O’Donnell will win the Republican primary and general election. Castle will be a lame-duck until January.

  1. Not appointed. House vacancies are only filled by special election.

  2. I think the most likely outcome is that the House seat would stay vacant until the winner of the November election is sworn in.

Want to know what will happen?

The demented Liberals will continue to wreck the country and the Comrade in Chief will play golf.

U.I. I think you called it.

  6. Yeah, I’m pretty sure they just leave it open when it’s that short of a span. They can get away with a 2 month gap, I think. If it were any longer, then constitutionally they would have to hold a special.

Also: I am enjoying the wingnut comment above.
