DRAFT2: Business History of RNC’s “We Built This!” night speaker Demolishes “We Built This!” night premise

Filed in Delaware, National by on August 26, 2012 33 Comments

I still need to find that link for the FSM stats, and I’m open to suggestions for titling this for max impact. It is easy to see why Delawarean Sher Valenzeula was asked to speak on the RNC’s “We Built This” theme night in Tampa. She is a successful latina small business person who built her business all alone without any government support whatsoever. Her story is a real rebuke to President Obama’s take on capitalism.

Another day and another shooting — this time at the Empire State Building where it looks right now several people have been shot — at least one killed — by someone who was fired by a firm in the building a year or so ago. The NYPD appears to have shot and killed the shooter.

‘I Don’t Need No More Steenkin’ Debates’. That’s the conclusion that Wilmington Mayoral candidate Dennis P. Williams has reached. He may be right. There have been something like 18 of them, and Williams has taken part in something like 17. This morning, I decided to focus on some internals of recent polls, and some forecast models. First, Charlie Cook said yesterday that, with the unemployment rate at 8% and with two thirds of the country thinking we are going in the wrong direction, then how in the hell is President Obama winning this election?

There is quite an easy answer, and I will let fellow GW alum John Sides explain.

Here’s the new Map, showing Missouri becoming a Strong Romney state, which is the only change from yesterday.

Rethugs Want Melloy Off Ballot

Filed in Delaware by on August 23, 2012

Apparently, [Republican Mayoral candidate] Kevin Melloy’s check for the filing fee bounced, and Rethugs would rather have nobody carrying the R banner in the City than, you know, pay the fee themselves:

Not Buying the Most Dangerous City in America Label

You know by now that Parenting Magazine put out a piece yesterday that states that Wilmington is the most violent city in America, ahead of places like St. Louis, Baltimore and New Orleans:
