A Draft Dodger Gave a Speech About Valor in Normandy

Filed in National by on June 6, 2019

A man who used his privileged status to fake a disability in order to dodge national service gave a speech this morning at a ceremony at the grave site of more than 9,380 American service members who were killed in the World War II landings and the operations that followed.

“To the men that sit behind me and to the boys that rest in the field before me, your example will never grow old,” the Draft Dodger said, with an audience of veterans behind him. “Your legend will never die.”

I skipped his speech. But did he mention anything about all the “losers” who got captured …. ?

I watched a little. He didn’t stutter or go off script, so it will probably be lauded as a towering work of inspirational oratory.
