The Criminal Neglect Of Jared Kushner’s ‘Get Shit Done’ Covid Task Force.  Essential reporting, essential reading.  There are too many blatant violations of the public welfare to list, but here’s one that I betcha many of you have long suspected:

Against that background, the prospect of launching a large-scale national plan was losing favor, said one public health expert in frequent contact with the White House’s official coronavirus task force.

Most troubling of all, perhaps, was a sentiment the expert said a member of Kushner’s team expressed: that because the virus had hit blue states hardest, a national plan was unnecessary and would not make sense politically. “The political folks believed that because it was going to be relegated to Democratic states, that they could blame those governors, and that would be an effective political strategy,” said the expert.

That logic may have swayed Kushner. “It was very clear that Jared was ultimately the decision maker as to what [plan] was going to come out,” the expert said.

Also, check out how Kushner and Ivanka have benefited from Trump Administration programs.

Trump To Ban 15-Second Lip-Synchs?  AKA ‘Tik Tok’?  He has nothing better to do?  Trump has normalized mental derangement, and the press and, yes, politicians, even Democrats, won’t say the obvious: He is deeply-ill and unfit to be President.  The fact that his mental derangement now surfaces several times a day has resulted in normalization of his condition, not calls that he resign for the good of the country.

Rethug Rep. Admits 11 Ethics Violations.  The Arizona Rep. is facing a tough reelection campaign. This won’t help.

No Quick Turnaround On Covid Tests Any Time Soon.  In other words, the test results are basically useless. Six months into a pandemic. The testing czar may not be the problem, but he’s not part of any solution:

Since then, critics argue, America’s testing has been a historic catastrophe that has allowed the virus to rage like a forest fire. The number of tests performed has surged to more than 50m and last Sunday, on CNN’s State of the Union, Giroir claimed that anyone who “needs” a test can get one. But getting test results is a different matter: shortages of chemicals and plastic pipette tips can mean it takes up to two weeks for laboratories to turn them around, rendering them practically useless.

Konyndyk, a senior policy fellow at the Center for Global Development thinktank in Washington, said: “The fundamental thing that’s gone wrong is the federal government has not taken ownership of the problem and has not taken ownership of fixing it. Ultimately, that is much more the president’s decision than it is Brett Giroir’s but Brett Giroir is willingly facilitating and enabling it.

“It’s a failed policy so he owns it. He’s not saying we’re failing, he’s not saying we need a different approach, he’s continuing to work on an approach that at this point you just have to say is manifestly failed. We’re moving backward on testing. Delays are getting longer.”

Trippi Tripped Up.  He tripped himself up. He now joins Dave McBride and Cathy Cloutier (and likely others on the down-low) as politicians who don’t live where they serve.  We learned one thing, though. The Department of Elections won’t do a fucking thing:

The Delaware Department of Election’s Commissioner Anthony Albence said city council has authority over what happens next.

“After a member is sworn into a legislative body (in this case, Wilmington City Council), the body determines the eligibility of sitting members to serve,” he said.

In other words, the Department of Elections will do nothing to address residency issues.  The Delaware Way at its finest.  Albence has proven himself a worthy successor to Elaine Manlove.

What do you want to talk about?
