This is serious, if true. From a source within the Democratic Party:
Just an update. USDOJ teams are in and around more Hispanic sections of Wilmington. They are standing outside of polling places with a list of voter names and information, asking voters for their names and addresses before they go into the polling place.
They have been moving from polling place to polling place, most recently at Woodlawn and Quaker Hill and we think they’re headed other places as well.
The AG’s office is aware of it and the DELDems’ election protection team is involved.
Voter intimidation, voter suppression, with intimations of ICE involved. I have not yet found any confirmation from news sources.
Not sure if these are the same people, but our Spotlight reporter encountered USDOJ poll monitors in Wilmington this morning.
They were not approaching voters before they entered the precinct and were only asking questions about poll accessibility after voters exited.
They said they were from USDOJ’s Civil Rights Division and didn’t appear to be interfering in any way.
Well, I know that accessibility advocates were at our polling place trying to ensure that those with wheelchairs could access the polling place.
But they weren’t DOJ.
Plus, DOJ poll monitors traditionally were employed to assure that no voter intimidation took place. Raising the question, at least to me, why are they here?
Because, “We want you to go to Wilmington Delaware to make sure that polling places are accessible” just doesn’t ring true to me.
