DL Tracking Poll Results — Kevin Wade (R)
According to Kevin Wade and Kevin Wade supporting PACs, Delaware needs Kevin Wade. According to Delawareans, Delaware does not want Kevin Wade. Wade has a 60% unfavorable rating, which dwarfs his 18% favorable rating. Meanwhile, 22% are saying Kevin Who? While the readers of Delaware Liberal may not like Tom Carper all that much, Kevin Wade is no alternative.
Thursday Open Thread [4.5.12]
Now that the Republican Primary is ending, I am going to start posting campaign ads in the open threads. But before that, we do have two polls from Pennsylvania and New York showing Romney winning. That seems to confirm that yes, the race is over.
Sussex Musical Chairs
As you know, the retirement of Sen. George Bunting as set up a game of musical chairs downstate, which already had two games going on with the new 6th District Senate seat and the new 20th District House seat added to the area. Last night, former Rep. Shirley Price spoke to the 38th RD Democratic Committee and announced that she will be running for her old seat.
DL Tracking Poll Results — Sen. Chris Coons (Round 2)
You know, none of these polls have varied wildly as you would expect internet polls. Last month, Chris Coons had a 70% approval rating. This month he has a 73% approval rating. Last month, he had a 16% disapproval rating. Now it is 22%.
Wednesday Open Thread [4.4.12]
“Nobody thinks Romney’s going to win. Let’s just be honest. Can we just say this for everybody at home? Let me just say this for everybody at home. The Republican establishment — I’ve yet to meet a single person in the Republican establishment that thinks Mitt Romney is going to win the general election this year. They won’t say it on TV because they’ve got to go on TV and they don’t want people writing them nasty emails. I obviously don’t care. But I have yet to meet anybody in the Republican establishment that worked for George W. Bush, that works in the Republican congress, that worked for Ronald Reagan that thinks Mitt Romney is going to win the general election.” — Joe Scarborough, on Morning Joe.
Live Long….
I think one of the reasons I like President Obama so much is that he is a geek, a sci-fi geek, a Trekkie, just like me. Look at that perfect Vulcan salute.

Fmr. Senator Ted Kaufman to Address PDD Meeting Tonight
Former Senator Ted Kaufman, who replaced Vice President Biden in the Senate in early 2009, and who became a key figure in the push to reform Wall Street and the financial services system in 2009 and 2010, will be a special guest tomorrow at the monthly meeting of the Progressive Democrats for Delaware. Also speaking at tomorrow’s meeting will be Bryan Townsend, who is challenging Senator Tony DeLuca in the Democratic primary in the 11th SD.
DL Tracking Poll Results — NCCo Executive Paul Clark (Round 2)
In February, New Castle County Executive Paul Clark had a 30% approval rating and a 51% disapproval rating, rivaling Karen Weldin Stewart and everyone in the Republican party as the most disliked politicians in Delaware. Things did not get better as the weather warmed. Now he has a 76% disapproval rating and a 15% approval rating. This tells us two things: 1) the first poll was freeped by whatever minimal support Clark has in the party, and 2) our internet poll is obviously inaccurrate where Clark is concerned. Yeah, Clark is not liked and is disapproved of, but it does not rise to the level of 76%.

Bill Clinton thinks that President Obama will win election quite easily.
“I think that he’s gonna win handily, and I have for a long time. I actually have since the 2010 elections. [W]hat the right-wing says always sounds better when they’re sayin’ it than when they’re doin’ it. So I thought after the 2010 elections, they basically assured his reelection.”
DL Tracking Poll Results — AG Beau Biden (Round 2)
The Attorney General’s approval numbers remained constant, at 69%, down one point from 70% last month. But his disapproval rating jumped, from 16% to 29%. Who knows, maybe yesterday the Republicans are conscious enough to read the poll.
