Biden is Unchallenged by GOP.

I am sitting here in the Delaware Democratic Party headquarters with time to kill before the Progressive Democrats of Delaware meeting this evening. So I thought I would pass along two press releases from Beau Biden's campaign and then from John Daniello, the illustrious chairman of the state party, concerning the GOP's failure to field a candidate of their own to challenge Beau Biden for reelection.

Deadline Day

Today we find out if Beau Biden has an opponent for reelection. The general consensus is that the GOP will let Biden be reelected unopposed. Republicans have been both mocked and praised for this move.

“Qualified Citizen Politician”

Those are Christine O'Donnell's words in describing herself in her first campaign ad. Yes, she has finally narrowed down her qualifications for the Senate seat to something that is vaguely plausible rather than completely fictitious.

Always the Bully

State GOP staffer John Hawley and Evan Queitsch, a supporter of U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell got into a scuffle after a Founder’s Values group candidate forum Monday night. EvanQ didn't want O'Donnell to answer any questions apparently. And there is video.

Internal Poll Has Disasterous News [For Mike Castle]

Now, I preface this post with the fact that this is a story heard from someone who heard it from someone. But I like this story so I am running with it. So a Republican Minority Leader (either Boehner or McConnell) was in Delaware in the last two weeks do some quiet fund raising for Mike Castle among the rich Chateau crowd. The Minority Leader's sales pitch: there is an internal RNC or RSCC polling for this race has Coons within 7 points of Castle.

What Goes Around Comes Around [The DE GOP Civil War]

Burris is complaining about the "attack the messenger" politics of Christine O'Donnell. The problem is Burris has practiced this exact kind of politics for years. It is the kind of politics that defines both the Delaware and national Republican Parties. So what goes around, goes around.

The Facts

It is time for the right wing to realize they have lost not only this battle, but this war. Sure, the appeal process is not done, and yes, the Supreme Court could overturn this, but that will only be the last gasp of bitter bigoted conservatives who currently populate the Court. Should this decision be overturned by the Supreme Court (and I actually don't think it will be because Anthony Kennedy is big on fundamental rights), then as soon as one of them dies or retires, they will be overturned. Because the reality is, the demographics are on our side.
