Bank of America = The peoples bank

Filed in Delaware by on October 12, 2009 2 Comments

It’s hard to believe this bank was started by an Italian that was looking to be able to loan to be people that other banks wouldn’t loan to. “There’s a difference between hardship and entitlement,” said Jerry Durham, Bank of America’s vice president of home retention No shit?  Entitlement is when you are too big […]

Filed in Delaware, National by on October 12, 2009 118 Comments

Do you remember the story of Zachary, a 6 year-old student in the Christina school district who was suspended for bringing camping utensils to school? This story has been picked up by the New York Times. Finding character witnesses when you are 6 years old is not easy. But there was Zachary Christie last week […]

Looks Who’s Famous :-P

Filed in Delaware by on October 10, 2009 12 Comments

Today’s News Journal had an article on local reaction to the Nobel Peace Prize award: Timothy Pancoast, blogging on Delawarepolitics.net, which bills itself as “Delaware’s Center-Right Voice,” wrote: “Our great leader President Obama has won a Nobel Peace Prize. He has paid far less for that than most people pay to win at the Dover […]

Castle is in, but his fundraising still laggs.

Filed in Delaware by on October 10, 2009 18 Comments

In the Delaware Senate race, it is good news/bad news for the GOP. The good news: newly minted Senate candidate Mike Castle is sitting on over three-quarters of a million cash-on-hand. The bad news: he raised just eighty-seven grand for the quarter, which makes it evident that he was hardly “ramping up” for his Senate bid.

A Difficult And Sad Day

Filed in Delaware by on October 9, 2009 19 Comments

As a parent I spend a large part of each and every day protecting my children.  It’s instinctive, and obviously predictable since my kids have taken to cutting off my warnings with “Don’t worry, Mom.  We’ll be careful.”  But I do worry.  I’m wired to worry.  My 15 year old son is going to Italy […]

Quick Hits

Beau Biden for Senate buttons are being sold on eBay. They look amateurish, not unlike something Cafepress would put out. I highly doubt these are official.

While this Delaware Politics post is satirical, it got me thinking….. Dave Burris for Congress. A Burris-Carney showdown would be spectactular.

Biden Watch, Day Three

Filed in Delaware by on October 8, 2009 2 Comments

If Biden were to run, I have said before his model for the campaign would be Carper v. Roth or Obama v. McCain, respectful of the elder opponent’s long service but critical of his failed ideas of the past. That is a civilized race. However, when Castle says it, you get the feeling a “civilized race” to him would be no criticism of his record at all, and if there is criticism of him, it would be the worst negative attack in the history of politics. That is why I want Biden to run, because Castle deserves criticism for his long running arrogance.

Carper’s State-Based Public Option Gains Steam

Filed in Delaware, National by on October 7, 2009 17 Comments

Tom Carper’s hybrid state co-op/public option plan is gaining momentum in the Senate right now. If you want to know what to think about the plan look at who’s praising it. A new proposal by Sen. Tom Carper would spell out how to boost competition in the private market by enacting government-run plans at the […]

Stoopid Rethug Tricks: Blasting Carney on Day Castle Enters Race

Filed in Delaware by on October 6, 2009 11 Comments

Perhaps they’re playing three-dimensional chess at a level that only dogs can hear. But does this make any sense to you? John Carney, the guy who is running for the seat that Castle is leaving, gets blasted by some junior league RNC ‘wordsmith’ on what should be Mike Castle’s day: Andy Seré, spokesman for the National […]

The Streak.

Jason Scott made a promise to streak nude down the main street in Smyrna, Delaware if Mike Castle entered the race for the US Senate seat formerly held by Joe Biden. So now that Castle has entered the US Senate, the obvious question is not who will run against Castle, but will Jason keep his […]

Now that we created the monster, when do we attack them too?

Filed in Delaware, International by on October 6, 2009 4 Comments

So, we all know that around the time that Sadam started talking crazy with pegging oil to a basket currency the US all of a sudden need to rid him of his non-existent WMD’s and shove Democracy down his country’s throat with a few thousand megatons of whoop ass.  And we needed Haliburton to secure […]
