Trump’s ass-kissing tour
After kissing Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman’s ass for a week, Trump jumped over to North Korea to kiss Kim Jong-un’s ass. How would the press have covered Obama kissing so much ass? The mind reels at the thought. Donald Trump has become the first sitting US president to set foot in North Korea, […]
Without mentioning Biden by name, Bernie Sanders explains why Biden shouldn’t be the nominee
In 2019 we should all agree that the eventual Democratic nominee will need to give Democratic voters a reason to get out and vote. Democrats have demonstrated their willingness to boycott elections and candidates that don’t offer anything other then “I’m a little less bad than the other guy.”
Here is Bernie on the topic when asked whether Biden could fire up the Democratic base.
H”Voter turnout has got to be more and more young people, more and more working class people, more lower-income people, who traditionally do not get involved,” he said.
“But you’re not going to have that turnout unless the candidate has issues that excite people and energize people. That means you have to be talking about Medicare-for-all. You have to be talking about raising the minimum wage to a living wage of $15 an hour. You have to be talking about making public colleges and universities tuition-free, and canceling student debt. You’ve got to be talking about climate change and a bold response to the planetary crisis.”
Lisa Blunt Rochester would like you to know that she envisions a bipartisan solution to the border crisis
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester joined with her colleagues in voting to pass H.R. 3401 as amended by the Senate, providing much-needed emergency funding for the humanitarian crisis at the border.
“While I am disappointed that the House version of the emergency funding bill will not be enacted, the humanitarian crisis on our Southern Border necessitates immediate action and this bill accomplishes that. My priority is ensuring that children under the care of the United States government are safe and appropriately cared for – this vote reflects that priority,” said Congresswoman Blunt Rochester. “As I said when the House passed our version of the emergency funding bill earlier this week, money alone will not solve this problem. It is time for the Senate to begin working with us on comprehensive immigration reform.
SO Cute!
There is no “middle” so there is no point in being a centrist
The Democrat 2020 bumper sticker: Look, we’re all gonna have favorites during the primary. That’s what primaries are for. But once we have a Democratic nominee, we’re gonna vote for them, because we’re not morons. Announce your intent to end the madness by voting for the Democrat in 2020, whoever they are. …Made with adhesive […]
Let’s Face It, 2020 is going to be about race in America
African Americans in general and African American women, in particular, are the most reliable Democratic voters. Hillary Clinton took them for granted and enough of them they stayed home that she lost. Maybe she wasn’t prepared for how racist Trump was prepared to make the election? In her defence, who was?
Similarly, who among us was prepared for how racist Trump would govern? The DC sages told us it was a show to bring out the base. Well, the show goes on, and on…and on.
Trump has never pretended that his election in 2016 was about anything other than race. Trump has never pretended that his administration is about anything other than race. His dog whistles are not silent dog whistles, they are loud and proud sheriff Bull Connor whistles.
Biden can’t be the nominee. There is no formula for being “just racist enough” to peel away some Trump voters. No. There are is no middle to appeal to. You want the racism Trump is selling or you don’t. 2020 is going to be about race and it is going to be a war.
Song of the Day 6/28: Martha and the Vandellas, “Heat Wave”
In meteorological terms, what we’re in just barely qualifies as a heat wave, but if you’re compiling a Global Warming soundtrack, this is the lead single. It worked magic for Motown in 1963, when it was one of Holland-Dozier-Holland’s first million-sellers and the first Top 10 record for Martha and the Vandellas, later billed as […]
Biden’s Staff Reportedly ‘Freaking Out’ Over His Performance
Olivia Nuzzi of New York magazine talked to a source close to the Biden campaign who told her Biden’s staff is “freaking out” over his poor performance. From her Twitter thread: The source said that internally, field staff says the campaign-organized debate watch parties in early voting states have been “awkward” and that Biden isn’t […]

BREAKING: Supreme Court Rules That Citizenship Question Can’t Be Added To Census–At Least For Now
The news wasn’t ALL bad today. From the NYTimes: In a setback for the Trump administration, the Supreme Court on Thursday sent back to a lower court a case on whether the census should contain a citizenship question, leaving in doubt whether the question would be on the 2020 census. Chief Justice John G. Roberts […]
