Biden Caves to Coons/Manchin on Watered Down Stimulus
Knee-jerk moderation and the need to make everything worse in the name of compromise.
Disgusting.
Coons: PRESIDENT BIDEN IS SOMEONE WHO WILL WORK ACROSS THE AISLE. I WAS ENCOURAGED TO HEAR SENATOR CASSIDY SAY REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME OF THIS STIMULUS BILL, THIS COVID RESPONSE BILL, HE IS GOING TO WORK ACROSS THE AISLE. I HAVE BEEN A GOOD FRIEND AND PARTNER WITH HIM WORKING ON NATIONAL SERVICE ISSUES, FOR EXAMPLE. I THINK PRESIDENT BIDEN CHALLENGED US TO DO TWO THINGS — DELIVER RELIEF TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FOR THE ONGOING PANDEMIC AND RECESSION CAUSED BY IT, AND FIND WAYS TO WORK ACROSS THE AISLE. THE URGENCY OF THE ISSUE MEANS HE IS MOVING AHEAD AND WE ARE MOVING AHEAD WITH THIS $1.9 TRILLION BILL THAT HAS A BROAD SUPPORT AMONGST VOTERS OF ALL BACKGROUNDS AND PARTIES.

Song of the Day 3/3: Mark Chestnutt, “Blame It on Texas”
Texas’ sociopathic leadership has lifted all Covid restrictions, which makes me think they can’t secede soon enough — if it were a foreign country we could impose a travel ban. Country music loves to sing the praises of the Lone Star State, but only Mark Chestnutt told the truth about Texans — they’re insane, eager […]

How do we beat Kevin Hensley (and other so-called moderate Republicans)? I’m seriously asking. For me, the simple fact that Hensley is a Republican is enough. Turns out, I’m not normal. We have about 20 months, so what’s the game plan?
This is huge -> President Biden announces we will now have enough vaccine supply for 300 million Americans by the end of May. This is 2 months earlier than last estimates, and possible because Biden is using the Defense Production Act to have companies help produce the J&J vaccine.
And now the punch line:
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas ends mask mandate after 8 months, becoming largest state to lift order intended to prevent spread of COVID-19. Idiots.

Biden Goes To Bat For Amazon Warehouse Workers. Issues strong support for unionization: For a few minutes on Sunday night, President Biden sounded a little like a union leader. “Unions put power in the hands of workers,” he said in a video statement of support for the union drive at an Amazon fulfillment center in […]
Hannity Moans – Rich people flee America if “ultra-millionaire tax act” goes into effect
All I can say is good luck finding a better tax haven, even if 2% of net worth above $50 million is taxed.
SEAN HANNITY (HOST): It may sound great to a lot of Americans, the idea that Elizabeth Warren is now proposing a wealth tax, which probably means that Joe Biden will do it, because he’s now basically taking dictation now from everybody in the Democratic Party.
Alright, wealth tax, two percent net value of assets [above $50 million] of the wealthiest people in America, “We build a future for all of our kids by investing” — taxing — “in opportunity,” she said. It’d be — you know, contending that the small tax would generate at least 3 trillion dollars. Now, if you’re not going to be subject to that tax, you’re probably saying “great.” Here’s the problem.
…
If Elizabeth Warren does this in the country, do you not think that the people that got rich, most of which got rich by not being stupid and working hard, I don’t know many people that were born with a silver spoon in their mouth, I just don’t know that crowd. I — I didn’t grow up with that crowd. So, I’m just — I’m looking at this, and they think it’s great.
The bill’s going to be dubbed the “ultra-millionaire tax act.”
Okay, what do you think — what is happening that nobody is paying attention to? People are leaving the country. They are giving up their citizenship. That’s the next thing that’s going to happen.
The current poll question is a trick
The Last Guy very nearly won a second term. That’s fucking crazy to think about, but he almost pulled it off.
Policy is strategy.
Strategy is policy.
I fight against pessimism, because I’m a natural optimist, but I wonder how many seats we’ll lose in the midterms? More than a few.
Song of the Day 3/1: Drive-By Truckers, “This Fucking Job”
The need for a higher minimum wage has been apparent for many years now, and anyone who claims $15 is too much too soon should study the issue a little more (if wages had kept pace with corporate profits since the 1970s, the minimum wage would be about $23 an hour). Even songwriters have been […]

The Last Guy ™ spoke at some conservative circle jerk. I don’t know what he said, but people think that it is good news for Joe Biden. Ok, I guess. Biden defended his decision to not get up in Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s grill after a U.S. intelligence report said what we all […]
‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: February 2021
OK, I’ll admit it. Last month, I might have reached for a song or two that otherwise did not meet my demanding musical standards. You need have no such concerns this month. On a more incongruous note, I believe that this is the first month where I’ve had two songs by artists whose names begin […]
Why is Delaware So Terrible at Getting People Vaccinated?
Delaware stinks at getting people vaccinated. Only three states (Maryland, Mississippi, and Kansas) are worse.

Now that The Last Guy™ has been reduced to giving speeches to the clowns and rageaholics at CPAC (it stands for Clowns Playing At Competence), the media’s theme for the week was The $15 Minimum: Democrats Are Doing It Wrong, and they might be right. For example, Sen. Bernie Sanders criticized the WalMart-owning Walton family […]
Joe Biden’s Failed Presidency
Don’t be angry at me over that headline. Joe has written it, and is living it everyday that he doesn’t pivot to moving forward without the Republicans, (and traitor Democrats like Coons, Manchin & Sinema). The central policy argument of (Biden’s) campaign, repeated throughout the primaries and general election, was that he, alone among all […]
Song of the Day 2/27: Peter Gabriel and Playing for Change, “Biko”
Playing for Change, the music-education non-profit that records musicians around the world playing the same song and edits them into videos, released this Peter Gabriel classic a couple of weeks ago, 40 years after its original release, repurposing the anti-apartheid anthem to address police brutality. The notion has legitimate connection to the issue — after […]
