The “Lord’s Resistance Army” Sounds Like Something Teabag Republicans Would Approve Of

President Obama just announced that we are sending about 100 U.S. troops to Africa to help hunt down the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army. The Wikipedia article on the Lord's Resistance Army says that the group is based on apocalyptic Protestant Christianity. It is led by Joseph Kony, who proclaims himself the "spokesperson" of God sent to earth to establish a theocratic state based on the Ten Commandments. Sound familiar?
The LRA is accused of widespread human rights violations, including murder, abduction, mutilation, sexual enslavement of women and children and forcing children to participate in hostilities.
But, you know... God told them, so....

Dover Councilman Committed to Offensive Material

As a private citizen, David Andersen can be as determined to be offensive as he wants to be. As a Representative of the City of Dover, I would think that Andersen could rethink this position.
"The piece trivializes the Holocaust. It draws inappropriate comparisons that offend the sensibilities of Holocaust survivors and those who appreciate the gravity of one of the most tragic episodes in human history," read the letter to Anderson, signed by ADL regional director Barry Morrison. Anderson maintains that the video, posted Sept. 20 by site contributor Fay Voshell of Wilmington, has nothing to do with the Holocaust.

Cohen Makes Flirty Eyes at Kovach

In her most recent blog post, Cohen gets wistful over the good old days when imagining a Kovach vs. KWS match-up.
Stewart's woes could be an opening, especially for someone like Kovach. In a state known for its middle-of-the-road politics, he is a moderate Republican in the mode of Mike Castle.

In Search of “Delaware Style” Clam Chowder

There is not such thing as Delaware Style clam chowder. That's the point. There should be. Delaware needs a cultural identity beyond being the "Usury State." (Thanks Carper, you f*cker!) With our proximity to New Jersey, we are in danger of being culturally dominated by hair gel abusing douche-bags. Also, did you know what visitors to this state are greeted with when they stop at the new I-95 rest area? Crabs. Crabs! Like we are some kind of ersatz Maryland. F*ck that! To get the ball rolling, here are some things we need to have our own cultural identity. Click through....

UPDATE & THANK YOU ! DelawareLiberal Action to Help Support Occupy Wall Street – Live Blog

Monday October 10th, - 7:48pm What a day... Huge thank you's to everyone! Too many to list right now. My first reactions... Everything you've heard about the gentle-spiritedness of this is true. I witnessed a bunch of Americans being the civic minded Americans that we are meant to be. Protesters, cops, journalists, all American patriots doing their thing. Everything you heard about this being anti-capitalist is a bunch of hooey. Everyone I saw seemed to be expressing a desire to return to the kind prosperity that was built on the notion that we are all in this together. A prosperity that does not simply materially enrich a few - but on a much deeper level enriches us all. More tomorrow. Thanks again.

UPDATE 3: DelawareLiberal Occupy Wall Street Action MONDAY 10/10

Saturday October 8th, 2011 We have our pick up times, and our donation wranglers. We have some donation lined up. We have our wheels and I have my post it note reminding me to bring my easy pass. If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning. What we don't have, is a real clear sense of how this is going to work once we get to Manhattan. In the action oriented spirit of this protest, we are still going for it - but if anybody has any first hand knowledge of what the recieving operation in OWS is like, I'd be eager to hear it. What we still need: 1) Whatever you do, sign this petition: http://www.getmoneyout.com/ Democrats are getting a little spine because they can count. 2) More pledges of supplies. (You know you have an old coat. Bring it to one of the three collection points on Monday morning. (see below)) 3) A little more press(?). I'm not sure about this. We have a call in to Al Mascitti's show lined up, but maybe some local press would be good? Maybe not. I'm not a huge fan of any of the Delaware Newspapers. 4) There is no number four unless you think of something that we are forgetting and want to put in the comments section.
