Online Fundraiser for Jess Scarane Day 1

Online Fundraiser for Jess Scarane Day 1

Last week we noted how well the Jess Scarane campaign is going (100 active volunteers who have knocked over 10,000 doors in all three counties) in spite of a press blackout from local media.

This amazing momentum is based on a great candidate with a great progressive message running against a   deeply unpopular incumbent.   “How can I help out?” is what you are thinking.   Well, hold that thought for a second and consider this.

Even highly motivated grassroots campaigns need money.  So you can help out by donating a little money and when you do, that money is going to have a huge impact.

The “win number” in a primary like this is very low (around 60,000).  It must be the lowest required primary vote win number in the nation for a Senate seat.   The low win number and the media landscape in Delaware means that an inexpensive, grassroots movement can win.   With your contribution, this primary is super winnable.

A $10, $20, $50 contribution is going to have a huge impact.  Not only that  – I’ll match it.  So a $10, $20, $50 contribution is really a $20, $40, $100 contribution.   My goal is to write a check for $500 by Friday.    Make me write that check.  Do it now.

Do it because Coons is terrible.

Do it because Jess Scarane is great.

Just do it.

I was wrong about Pete Buttigieg

I was wrong about Pete Buttigieg

Back in April when I wrote “I love Pete Buttigieg” and said that he was legit and could go the distance. I was wrong.

Maybe much too moderate for my taste, being gay and smart I thought he could thread the needle and articulate his positions in a way that could appeal to leftists and centrists alike. I was wrong about that. He is as tone deaf and out of step with the Democratic primary voter as any MSNBC talking head.

I was wrong. Not to blow my own horn, but unlike most bloggers, I can admit when I am wrong.

Biden’s Gone Barmy

The Legend of Super Joe Biden grows by the week. He’s now claiming that he was arrested in South Africa when he tried to visit the imprisoned Nelson Mandela. The Democratic presidential candidate told some version of the following story at one campaign event in South Carolina and two in Nevada over the past two […]

Q: Is Scarane for real?

Filed in National by on February 22, 2020 2 Comments
Q: Is Scarane for real?

Even while contending with a press blackout from local media, Jess Scarane and her team have built some amazing momentum in their campaign to unseat The GOP’s favorite Democrat, Chris Coons. Just take a look at some of these numbers.

  • 100 active volunteers.
  • knocked over 10,000 doors,
  • routinely turning out 20-25 volunteers,
  • regularly knocking on doors in Dover, New Castle, Middletown, Newark, Wilmington, and Sussex.
  • This campaign is for real.   To put it in perspective, they’ve accomplished all of this at a point in time BEFORE Kerri Harris even started her campaign.   The 10,000 doors knocked on to date matches the number of doors the Kerri Harris campaign knocked on overall. Primary day is now 206 days from today. The entirety of the Harris campaign was 208 days. Scarane essentially has an entire Harris campaign of time left to win this.

In all due respect to Scarane, it should be noted that some of this amazing momentum is related to how deeply unpopular Coons is. Unlike Harris, Scarane has the advantage of running against a person who has spent his entire time in DC building his popularity exclusively among media and business elites in DC.

So this campaign is for real, and this primary is very winnable. On Monday DL will launch its online fundraiser which will allow you to take part by making a donation that will be matched. But if you don’t want to wait until Monday, you can start today.

To keep the momentum rolling, the campaign still needs people for canvass shifts, phone bank shifts. This is your opportunity to join a campaign that is rewriting the conventional wisdom about what is possible. Get more information sign up here:

    Q: Is Scarane for real?

A: You are goddam right she is.

I’m not sure how this is news, since it’s been news every day for four years now, but Russia appears to be meddling in the 2020 election to get Trump another four years. When Trump found out the Democrats were informed of this, he sacked the director of national intelligence. In equally surprising news, scientists […]

    Highlands Bunker – E55 – SB39 and SD14

Ed Note: I’ve only heard the first half, but this is another important podcast. 1) Middle and Upper Middle-class DL readers have no idea how expensive it is to be poor. We need to get on the asses of our Middle and Upper Middle-class Reps in Dover to get them to pass  SB-39

Another double header episode. First, D Marque Hall and Ryan Nowaczyk join Rob to talk about the Fines and Fees bill and the movement to decriminalize poverty. Then, state senate candidate Kyra Hoffner joins Rob to talk about why she’s running for office against a long-time incumbent.

Coming Soon: Online Fundraiser for Jess Scarane

Coming Soon: Online Fundraiser for Jess Scarane

Klobs and Pete say that you should vote for them because Coons will stop President Bernie’s or President Warren’s initiatives in the Senate. That’s a dumb argument.

The notion that we have to accept a US Senate hamstrung by Coons is false on its face. The idea that progressive initiatives are impossible because Coons and other corporate lackeys in the Senate will block them is something Delaware has a big say in this year.

This year we have an opportunity to lead the country in changing the Senate by voting in Jess Scarane.

Turfing out Coons, a vocal critic of a government that works for the people, will be the shot heard round the world.

Soon I’ll be posting about the amazing momentum Scarane has already built across the state, and I’ll be asking you to help the momentum continue to build.

Help take down Coons by making a donation to Jess’ campaign and I will match it. Details to follow.

Poll numbers tank for “moderate” incumbent Senator

No it isn’t Coons. Not yet anyway. (Your day is coming, Coons)  For now, it is Susan Collins.  The WSJ blames the “polarized political climate” for Collins’ cratering approval, but I think we all know that it is because she is an absolute joke.

Coons’ Alfalfa Club Buddy Urges Dems to Nominate Joe Biden

A close Alfalfa club buddy of Coons is worried that Democrats will fail to nominate Joe Biden to run against trump. Biden, he says, is the best the Dems have for a head to head matchup against Trump.

Q: So, who is this headline grabbing Alfalfa Club buddy of Coons with the Dem’s best interest at heart?

Iowa futures market warms up to Warren

I followed the IEM pretty closely, but haven’t for a while so I was surprised to see a trend line that doesn’t mesh with what passes for political analysis on TV. Check out Warren. it looks like futures market players see her as a possible brokered convention winner. That makes sense. If the High Dems […]
