Right on Schedule; Sports Betting in Delaware
I mentioned yesterday in the comments that Delaware was one of the few states that actually was able to offer sports betting. This AM I came across this link. Looks like there are others starting to push for this. Their timetable is much shorter that I had expected, however. I am not a fan of […]
Thursday Tracking Poll: Defeat Mike Castle Edition
OK, Here is the weekly tracking poll. It ain’t scientific, fair or predictive of anything, but it sure is fun. Click on the link to vote. Who would you vote to be the Congressional Representative from Delaware if the election were held today? John Carney Jack Markell Dennis Spivack Other Democrat Mike Castle Dave Burris […]
George Bush Doesn’t Care About Old Ladies
I did not know it, but there are assigned seats for ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. in the front row of the White House press room. The one seat not labelled with a news organization is the one Labelled “Helen Thomas.” Well, when the new press room is opened in a few months, Helen will have […]
Nancy Karib-jellybean steps down
Nancy Karibjanian, long a staple of the news that no one watches, has decided to leave WHYY’s newscast, although she will continue to do some other things with the station. Through the years I’ve been working the balancing act of family life and broadcasting. Now as my oldest child is getting ready for college I […]
Delaware among hardest hit by Iraq War
Delaware ranks 7th in per capita deaths in the Iraq war, according to new research. I wonder how we rank in injuries, as the ratio of injuries to deaths is much higher in this war comparative to other conflicts.
Pelosi Plane Scandal Revealed!
It was big news until AnnaNicole died. Now it just lives in the zeitgeist of the electorate. Turns out that not only was it bogus, but the republicans spreading the rumor didn’t do any research before jumping in with both feet. I am so glad these jokers aren’t in the majority any more.
Tony Blair Emboldens the Enemy
Those stawart supporters of our adventure in Iraq, the Brits, have decided to set a timetable for withdrawal. Almost half of their boys will be home by Christmas. 1,500 could be home by Easter. Thank God the Bulgarians and Slovenians aren’t pulling out their 2 dozen troops from our coalition of the willing.
Pig Bladders Used to Regrow Fingers
Researchers have been able to regrow body parts for mice and salamanders, and this summer they plan to try to regrow fingers for soldiers injured in Iraq. Hopefully after that, they can regrow some spines in the Senate.
Republicans Hold Top Spots for Popular Presidents
The Gallup poll of Presidential popularity was just released. At least the number one spot has been retaken by a Republican that I would have voted for. Number one has been retaken by Lincoln, dropping Reagan to number 2. JFK and Bill Clinton take 3 and 4 respectively. 2% of those polled had brain damage, […]
Gore says he won’t run
I am pretty disappointed. Al Gore told the BBC that he has no intention to run for President. This is a shame, because he has been on the right side of issues since he lost to the Supreme Court and James Bakker in 2000. He is planning to do an international concert ala Live8 on […]
Windfarm update
The three energy bidders (Connectiv, NRG and Bluewater) all resubmitted their proposals, presumably unredacting(is that even a word?) more information. According to the NJ, Bluewater revealed the most information, although how that is measured isn’t explained. Bluewater does discuss the reliability of their proposal in their new documents. The new documents should be released later […]
Counter to Conservative Corner
Over at FSP, Rich Collins of Lewes lays out why conservatives and liberals are different. He is misled and simplistic. The argument basically boils down to “Liberals are unrealistic and Conservatives really understand the world.” Gimme a break. If you are going to try to boil it down to a single difference (dangerous business, that […]
